Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds showcase a dizzying array of plumages, almost all of which rely on odd tail plumes or the angle-sensitive iridescence of their feathers for their effect. There are 112 Genera containing 363 species!

Lemurs of Madagascar
This huge Island is one of my all-time favorite wildlife destinations. Surely one the best places in the World to encounter primates. Madagascar has 112 species (and counting) of Lemurs! My favorites are Sifaka's.

Predators have always attracted me (and many others). Their athletic ability and hunting technique appeal to the imagination. I also think they are very beautiful and photogenic.

Flight
Everything about the anatomy of a bird reflects its ability to fly. The wings, for example, are shaped to create lift. The leading edge is thicker than the back edge, and they are covered in feathers that narrow to a point. Airplane wings are modeled after bird wings.
For me the optimal way to photograph a bird is in flight
